Application fees are due at the time of application.

Examination fees are due when candidates accept an examination appointment.

Fees for MOCA are due when candidates register for a Cognitive Examination.

Deadlines are 11:59pm EDT/EST on the date listed.

The ABA requires credit card payment for all application and examination fees. The ABA accepts American Express, Diner's Club, Discover, MasterCard and Visa credit cards.

All fees paid to the ABA are non-refundable.

Anesthesiology Certification Examination Fees


2014 Part 1 Examination Fees

There is a $200 cancellation fee to cancel a Part 1 Examination appointment. The fee must accompany the candidate’s letter canceling the examination appointment.


Part 2 Examination Fees

Part 2 Examination Fee
Spring 2014 and Fall 2014 $2,100

There is a $750 cancellation fee to cancel a Part 2 Examination appointment. The fee must accompany the candidate’s letter canceling the examination appointment.


Maintenance of Certification in Anesthesiology (MOCA) Examination Fees


There is a single fee that diplomates must pay for each 10-year MOCA cycle. This fee, due upon registration for the Cognitive Examination, covers the administration of the MOCA program for the entire 10-year period and one opportunity to take the Cognitive Examination. Diplomates registering for the 2013 or 2014 Cognitive Examinations will pay a fee of $2,100. The re-examination fee is $800 for 2013 and 2014.

There is a $200 cancellation fee to cancel a MOCA Cognitive Examination appointment. The fee must accompany the candidate’s letter canceling the examination appointment.
